The 2nd most common bike issue on playa
These bearings fail constantly on beach cruiser playa bikes, the past few years I've fixed more of these on playa than flat tires. When they go, your bike's pretty much totaled unless you've got replacement bearings, so I grease mine every year before heading to BRC.
This kit has everything to grease or replace the bottom bracket bearings on a one-piece crank single speed beach cruiser (the most common burner bike). The 5/16 × 9 bearings are the standard size. You'll need a wrench to pull one pedal, channel locks that open to 1.25" for the crank nut, and a flat head to unscrew the dust shield. Brake cleaner cleans out the old grease, bring gloves and paper towels cause it gets messy. For grease I use Hi-Temp wheel bearing grease.
